Pankhurst & Deane post-lockdown: our measures to protect you and our staff revealed

As we gear up to reopen on Saturday, July 4, we’ve been getting the salon ready to keep you and our employees safe and protected.

Here’s how it’s going work:

  • In keeping with government guidelines, we will be practicing social distancing and asking you guys to use our hand sanitiser facility before you come into the salon.

  • Please come to your appointment on your own (where possible). We won’t have our usual waiting area inside so you will have to remain outside until your appointment to avoid crowding.

  • All our stations and equipment will be sanitised after each use and staff will be wearing full PPE (personal protective equipment).

  • We will ask you when you arrive to your appointment to wear a mask.

We appreciate this will all look a bit different and feel a bit strange at first, but we can’t wait to see you again and get your hair looking fab again.

Bookings

The way we take bookings has changed, too. We won’t be taking walk-ins or online bookings just yet. Please call us on 01865 553725 or email Emma at Emma.pankhurst7@icloud.com to make an appointment.

We are reopening on July 4

We’re delighted to tell you that we are planning to reopen on Saturday, July 4. We’ve been working really hard behind the scenes to make sure the salon is safe and ready for you, in accordance with government guidelines.

Bookings

The way we take bookings will be a bit different at first. We won’t be taking walk-ins or online bookings just yet. Please call us on 01865 553725 or email Emma at Emma.pankhurst7@icloud.com to make an appointment.

As soon as we have firm guidelines from the government about how we have to work (in terms of PPE etc.), we will let you know. Your health and safety is our priority – and we can’t wait to see you all again (and fix all those DIY haircuts!).

5 easy ways to make your beauty routine more eco-friendly

Choose an sustainable brand

Sounds obvious, right? But it’s small steps like these that can make a big impact. Look for brands that use sustainable ingredients and thoughtful packaging.

Shop cruelty-free products that are against animal testing

Look for the bunny icon on products to ensure they have been made without hurting animals. Also try and buy beauty products that are recyclable.

Ditch the make-up wipes

Yes they are convenient but they’re seriously damaging to the environment - the plastic fibres in the wipes take over 100 years to biodegrade. Even cotton pads are wasteful but you can easily swap them for a flannel (which has an exfoliating effect too) or reusable cotton pads you can pop in the washing machine.

Buy multi-functional products to save on plastic

Invest in hybrid products that will save on packaging, waste and money. Even if a product isn’t branded as a multi-use product, get creative! A highlighter can easily double up as a shimmer eye shadow, and your blush can be used as a lipstick.

Make your own facemasks

DIY masks are a great eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative to splurging, and no matter what your beauty concern, there’s a quick and easy DIY fix. Check out Meghan Markle’s best friend Priyanka’s DIY skin masks here.
